CHA Consulting, Inc. Technical Support Specialist in Albany, New York

CHA Consulting, Inc., is currently seeking a Technical Support Specialist for our Albany, NY office location.

The Technical Support Specialist will be primarily responsible for providing excellent customer service through our IT helpdesk.

Technical Assistance

  • Provide friendly customer support during business hours with good communication skills.

  • Log and maintain accurate Help Desk requests in the tracking system.

  • Prioritize, and diagnose company computer related issues, including but not limited to hardware and software support, escalate problems when needed.

  • Provide hands-on computer and application troubleshooting.

  • Perform post resolution follow-ups to help desk requests.


  • Install/upgrade new software on company computers.

  • Deploy Windows OS to new and/or rebuild existing computers.

  • Provide Windows operating system and application support.

  • Contributes to software testing projects.

  • Maintains software inventory and licensing compliance.

Network Assistance

  • Provide and support Ethernet connectivity to network devices.

  • Assist with telecommunications support.

  • Provide VPN connectivity support.

  • Escalate network related outages to management.


  • Assist with keeping Documentation and FAQ relevant to changing environment.

  • Conducts Information Technology orientations for new employees.

  • Assist with office expansion or reconstruction projects.

  • Help maintain Information Technology hardware database.

  • Requires some project-related travel.

  • Assist administrating and supporting phone systems.

Performs other related duties, as assigned.


  • High School diploma required; associate's degree preferred.

Experience and Qualifications: To be successful in this role, one must possess the following:

  • At least 1+ years of technical support experience.

  • Advanced experience with Windows & Microsoft Office applications.

  • MS Certified Professional certification preferred.

  • Experience supporting AutoCAD and/or MicroStation a plus.

  • Requires lifting computer equipment.
