This role is to support a newly formed Scrum team that will be among the first agile teams working on behalf of a long-standing customer. The successful candidate will have a solid understanding of the Scrum framework, and experience necessary to support a team’s rapid progress through the ‘Forming Storming-Norming-Performing’ cycle, and to coach effective collaboration between the team and their designated Product Owner. Outstanding communication and ‘soft’ skills are essential. Join our team!
Work Location: Rensselaer, NY (Albany metro)
Organize and facilitate the activities of the Scrum Framework
Coach effective product ownership and backlog refinement
Coach continual team improvement
Own and resolve impediments
Act as a Servant Leader for the team and product owner
Visualize and manage project risks and issues. Drive resolution of most risks and issues
Resolve conflicts as they arise
Recommend process improvements
Support the use of forward-utility focused metrics and reports
Support enterprise program management improvement and standardization activities
Support and improve collaboration with customers, staff, contractors, and management
Deep understanding of Agile processes and Scrum, with at least three years of experience working as part of Scrum team (as Scrum Master, Product Owner, Team Member, or a combination thereof)
At least one year prior experience serving as a Scrum Master
Experience as a Product Owner is a plus
Experience using Agile Tools such as JIRA, Rally, or VersionOne
Experience supporting or leading transition from Waterfall to Scrum is a plus
Demonstrated leadership in process improvement and innovation
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
- Three (3) or more years of experience working as part of a Scrum team. At least 1 Year of experience in the role of Scrum Master.
- Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or Professional Scrum Master I or II (PSM1 / PSM2)
- Certified Scrum Product Owner, Certified Scrum Professional, PMI-ACP
