Higher Logic IT Systems Administrator in Saratoga Springs, New York

The IT Systems Administrator is responsible for ensuring the stability, integrity and efficient operation of the enterprise information technology systems both internal and customer facing. Position duties include monitoring, maintaining, provisioning and resolving production issues within the enterprise. The Systems Administrator will apply proven communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to help identify, communicate, and resolve issues in order to maximize the benefit of IT systems investments.

This role will be part of a team of skilled and dedicated individuals that support highly available, multi-tier internet applications on a 24 x 7 basis and their associated Development and QA environments.


• Evaluate, monitor and troubleshoot existing server infrastructure and data center hardware

• Microsoft Server OS & associated services stack Administrator

• Act as liaison with other cross-functional groups and management personnel to ensure accuracy and timeliness of production and non-production activities

• Responsible for monitoring & management of enterprise backup services

• Responsible for the storage and management of IT architectural documents, diagrams & policies

• Participate in maintenance procedures for IT hardware, OS & services within the enterprise

• Actively participate with development and maintenance of the disaster recovery plan

• Actively contribute to security evaluations and stay current on threat landscape

• Monitor system resources & services to include backups, disk consumption, memory & CPU capacity

• Ensure issue resolutions are communicated and expectations met in a timely and effective manner

• Availability to work on-call schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays as necessary


• BA/BS degree or equivalent experience

• 2+ years of experience in Information Technology

• High Level understanding of Microsoft OS based environment & associated services

• Understanding of enterprise storage fundamentals

• Understanding of networking fundamentals

• Understanding of Microsoft Clustering Services

• Attention to detail, ability to both follow and/or provide written or verbal instructions without error

• Self-motivated with ability to work both independently and in a team environment
